The varied influences of Cleveland’s rich musical culture are the foundation for the unique musical expression of Ernie Krivda. Under the sonic umbrella of a rock & roll environment, the sounds of the many ethnic communities that are part and parcel to Cleveland life are mixed with the impact of the imposing classical music presence and a love for musical theater. These factors are combined in the performances of a single committed jazz musician, and the result is Ernie Krivda Jazz.
Krivda’s unique approach to jazz is probably expressed most vividly in small group settings. He plays his compositions in a variety of settings with musicians like guitarist Bob Fraser and Bassist Jeff Halsey. His Quintets include the talents of Trumpeter Dominic Farinacci, and Drummer Carmen Intorre.
The flame of Krivda's musical passion and creative spirit burns more intensely than ever as the critics have testified in response to the six CD’s he has released since 2003.
